HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – An Odessa motorcycle driver died Sunday (June 18) of injuries he received in a Hillsborough traffic crash.

Hee Soong Lee, 54, of Odessa, died at Trinity Hospital in New Port Richey where he was taken after the crash. The other driver, Nicholas De Santo, 29, of Lutz, was not injured.

The Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened about 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Tarpon Springs Road and Tyler Road. De Santo was trying to turn his work-issued 2016 Ford Transit van owned by Morgan Air, east onto Tarpon Springs from Tyler. Deputies said De Santo failed to see Mr. Lee who was riding his 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager west on Tarpon Springs.

The van turned in front of the motorcycle, deputies said, causing the bike to hit the van.
