Hillsborough Crash Kills Motorcycle Driver

He ran a red light, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A motorcycle driver died Wednesday (May 17) after a three-vehicle crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Vance Ralph Eldridge, Jr., 27, of Tampa, died at Tampa General Hospital where he was taken after the crash. He was wearing a helmet. No one else was injured in the crash.

The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. on State Road 574/MLK Boulevard just east of I-4. Troopers said a 2017 Toyota Four Runner driven by Donna Gail Exum, 57, of Plant City, was attempting to turn onto I-4 As the Toyota turned left under a green left turn arrow, Mr. Eldridge, who was driving a 2007 Suzuki GSX R-60, ran a red light and collided with the Toyota.

After the impact, troopers said, the Suzuki traveled into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2011 Toyota Rav 4 driven by Patricia H. Marshall, 77, of Riverview.
