Hernando Crash Kills Pedestrian

The man died the day after the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring Hill man died Thursday (March 16) of injuries he had received in a traffic crash the day before, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Carl R. Thomas, 55, of Spring Hill, died at Bayonet Point Hospital where he was taken after the crash.

The crash happened about 1:10 p.m. Wednesday (March 15) in the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 N north of Breakwater Boulevard. Troopers said Mr. Thomas was trying to cross U.S. 19 when he walked into the path of an oncoming 2016 Chevrolet Trax driven by Wayne E. Thompson, 91, of Brooksville.
