The wolf pack will begin patrolling tonight (Dec. 29) and end tomorrow morning.

TAMPA BAY – The Florida Highway Patrol will hold a multi-county wolf pack aimed at drunken and impaired drivers.

The wolf park will begin at 9 p.m. tonight (Dec. 29) and end at 3 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 30). The wolf pack operation will take place in Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough and Polk counties. Troopers will focus on State Road 589 (Suncoast Parkway and Veterans Expressway), SR 568 (Veterans Expressway) and SR 570 (Polk Parkway).

The FHP is committed to promoting safety for motorists and pedestrians using the public highways and rights-of-way and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws that regulate and control motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The wolf pack is designed to further those goals.

Troopers remind everyone to not drink and drive and to plan in advance for events where alcoholic beverages are consumed by using designated drivers, taxi or ride-sharing services, and host events where driving is not necessary. Should motorists encounter impaired drivers they are urged to call *FHP (*347).
