FHP Patrol Cars | Florida Highway Patrol | Law Enforcement

The Florida Highway Patrol will be targeting drunk and impaired drivers in Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Polk counties.

TAMPA BAY – Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol will be out in force tonight (April 13) as part of a multi-county wolf pack hunting drunken and impaired drivers.

The wolf pack operation will begin at 11 p.m. and end at 4 a.m. Friday (April 14). It will focus on State Road 589 (Suncoast Parkway and Veterans Expressway), State Road 568 (Veterans Expressway) and State Road 570 (Polk Parkway).

The wolf pack operation is part of the FHP’s commitment to promote safety for motorists and pedestrians using the public highways and rights-of-way and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws that regulate and control motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Troopers said they want to remind drivers to not drink and drive and plan in advance for events where alcoholic beverages are consumed by utilizing designated drivers, taxi services or hold events where driving is not necessary. Should motorists encounter impaired drivers they are urged to contact the FHP by calling *FHP (*347).
