FHP Searches for Driver in Pinellas Hit and Run
Troopers said the driver in the one-vehicle crash left an injured passenger behind.
PINELLAS COUNTY – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are looking for a Tarpon Springs man who, they said, left the scene of a hit and run crash that injured his passenger.
Reynond Anthony Sefton, 28, was driving a 1999 Toyots SUV on Wednesday (April 19) when he lost control of his vehicle. Both he and his passenger, Anne M. Bell, 44, also of Tarpon Springs, sustained minor injuries, troopers said. Bell was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital but Sefton left on foot, troopers said.
The crash happened about 3:53 p.m. on U.S. 19 N south of Meadow Brook Drive in the Palm Harbor area. Troopers said Sefton was driving south on U.S. 19 approaching slower traffic. Sefton tried to stop, troopers said, but lost control of the SUV, which overturned. Sefton left his passenger and SUV in the center of the highway. It is unclear if alcohol was involved.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FHP at (813) 631-4020 or *FHP (*347).
