FHP Charges Pinellas School Bus Driver with DUI

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who rear-ended the school bus and left the scene.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A school bus driver was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after another driver rear-ended the bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Dorothy Lynn Burse, 56, of Largo, was charged with one count of DUI, the FHP said.

Troopers said Burse was driving a 2003 school bus that was stopped on 54th Avenue N for a red traffic light at 66th Street. The bus, which was carrying seven middle school students from the Lealman Innovation Academy, was rear-ended by another car, which left the scene. Troopers later arrested Burse.
