EAST LAKE – A Holiday woman died this morning (June 13) of injuries she received in a single-vehicle crash on East Lake Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Erin Hodges, 32, of Holiday, died at Mease Countryside Hospital where she was taken after the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The crash happened about 7:30 a.m. on East Lake Road south of Sandy Pointe Drive in Pinellas County. Troopers said Ms. Hodges was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer south on East Lake Road when she traveled onto the west shoulder. She over-corrected back on the road at which point the SUV overturned several times. It came to rest partly on the road and partly on the shoulder.
