Dunedin Man Dies after Head-On Crash

Three others were seriously injured in the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A traffic crash in Palm Harbor killed one man and left three with serious injuries this afternoon (Nov. 23), according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Cassidy Wade Clark, 26, of Dunedin who was driving a 2006 Jeep SUV died at Mease Countryside Hospital of his injuries. The driver and two passengers in the other vehicle were taken to Bayfront Health with serious injuries. None of the occupants in either vehicle were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

The crash happened about 2:42 p.m. on Alternate U.S. 19 N at Jeter Street in Palm Harbor. Troopers said the Jeep was traveling north on Alt. U.S. 19 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed the centerline into the path of a 2004 Ford pickup truck driven by James R. Boles, 28, of Largo. The Jeep collided head-on with the pickup injuring Boles and his two passengers, Joshua E. Mihovetz, 31, of Largo, and Allen Garsed-Vargas, 35, of Clearwater.

The crash closed both directions of Alt. U.S. 19 N for several hours.
