Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies and other law enforcement officers will monitor traffic throughout Pinellas County.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Pinellas County deputies, in conjunction with the Florida Highway Patrol and the Clearwater, Gulfport, Largo, St. Petersburg, and Tarpon Springs police departments will conduct a DUI wolf pack operation this weekend.

They will maintain a proactive profile over the weekend on the highly-traveled roadways of Pinellas County.

The operation will begin at 7 p.m. today (June 29) and continue until 5 a.m. Saturday (June 30).

The operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s ongoing commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. The goal of the wolf pack is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Suncoast Safety Council, and the Chaplains Outreach Ministries will be supporting law enforcement during the operation.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting wolf packs continuously throughout the year.
