The unknown car hit another vehicle that,  in turn, hit a third car, FHP troopers said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A St. Petersburg woman suffered minor injures Saturday (April 13) night in a hit-and-run crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Thessalonia M. Edwards, 21, of St. Petersburg, was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital with minor injuries. There were no other injuries.

The crash happened about 10:56 p.m. on northbound I-275 at about the 36 mile marker on the Howard Frankland Bridge in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said the unknown vehicle changed lanes and the left front of that car collided with the right rear of the 2002 Ford Taurus that Edwards was driving.

The impact pushed the Ford onto the outside shoulder where it hit the barrier wall, then traveled back across the roadway and hit the right side of a 2001 Ford Taurus.

The unknown vehicle fled the scene.

FHP troopers are asking anyone with information about the crash or the unknown car, described as a four-door sedan, to contact the FHP by calling (813) 558-1800 or *347.
