Driver Injured in Hit and Run Hillsborough Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A driver was injured this morning (July 3) during a hit and run crash on I-75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Iesha Thompson, 25, of Tampa, was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash happened about 8:45 a.m. on southbound I-75 south of Fletcher Avenue. Thompson was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima in the center inside lane when another car made an abrupt lane change in front of her. The two cars collided, troopers said, causing the Nissan to travel to the inside shoulder where it collided with a guardrail. The other car fled the scene.

The unknown vehicle is described as a dark-colored sedan. It could have damage on the left side where it collided with the Nissan.
