Driver Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-4

The injured driver lost control of his SUV when he swerved to avoid a crash with the unknown driver, FHP troopers said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are searching for a driver who left the scene of a crash Monday (Feb. 4)  on I-4.

Adam D. Key, 33, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash happened about 12:46 a.m. on I-4, east of I-275 in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Key was driving a 2002 Chevrolet SUV west on I-4. The unknown vehicle merged into Key’s lane and he swerved to avoid a collision.

When he swerved, Key lost control of his SUV, which entered the center median, collided with  guardrail, traveled down the grass shoulder, overturned several times, and caught fire.
