The crash tied up traffic on some sections of I-75 for more than four hours.

PASCO COUNTY – A Gibsonton man died of injuries he received in a three-vehicle crash Monday (Dec. 5), the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Ronnie Lynn Easton, 66, of Gibsonton, died at Bayfront Health Dade City where he was taken after the crash. David Allen Carpenter, 50, of Leesburg, one of the other drivers, received minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, FHP troopers said. The third driver, Travis Wayne Boggs, 29, of Summerville, GA, was not injured.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. on northbound I-75 just north of State Road 52. Troopers said a 2012 Ford F350 driven by Boggs was stopped for another crash. A 2013 GMC Sierra driven by Mr. Easton failed to stop and rear-ended the Ford. The GMC was in turn rear-ended by a 2013 Mack 600CXU driven by Carpenter. The crash closed portions of northbound I-75 until 2:30 p.m.
