Driver Dies in State Road 52 Crash

His passenger was seriously injured in the three-vehicle collision, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A Trinity man died and his passenger was seriously injured Sunday (Jan. 28) in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 52, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Joseph Martino, 33, died at the scene. His passenger Brittany Martino, 30, was taken to the Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in serious condition. Both are from Trinity. No one in the other vehicles was injured.

The crash happened about 8:16 p.m. at the intersecion of SR 52 and Chenwood Avenue.

Bradley Chapman, 34, of Hudson, was driving a 2014 Ford F150 south on Chenwood. When he entered the intersection of SR 52, troopers said he failed to yield and was hit by a 2004 Ford F250 driven by Charles Smith, 26, of Spring Hill.

The impact of the crash propelled the F250 into a 2018 Hyundai Sonata driven by Mr. Martino.
