The driver drifted into another lane, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A Spring Hill woman died from injuries she received Wednesday (Aug. 22) in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 19, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Diann Irene Plautz, 30, of Spring Hill, died at the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point where she was taken after the crash. The driver of another vehicle, Shaniquna Seuratg, 32, of Hudson, and her passenger, Tinamarie Duran, 30, also of Hudson, were taken to Bayonet Point in serious condition. The occupants of a third vehicle involved in the crash were not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The crash happened about 3:18 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 19 north of Krysher Lane in Pasco County.

Ms. Plautz was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring north on U.S. 19 in the center lane. Troopers said that, for an unknown reason, she drifted into the inside lane where she collided with a 2003 Dodge Ram driven by Jacob Trevor Castro, 22, of Weeki Wachee. Castro brought the Dodge to a controlled stop.

The Chrysler continued across the median and into the path of a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Seuratge. The two vehicles collided and came to rest in the center lane of southbound U.S. 19.
