The garbage truck made a U-turn in front of the car the man was driving, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

PASCO COUNTY – A Port Richey man died Tuesday (June 13) when his car collided with a garbage truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Davin Dane Hackbarth, 28, of Port Richey, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. No one else was injured in the crash.

The crash happened about 6:10 a.m. on State Road 52 at Alpine Parkway. A 2004 Mack garbage truck belonging to Seaside Sanitation and driven by Douglas Amaya, 47, of Port Richey, was traveling westbound on SR 52 when it made a U-turn. The turn took it into the path of the 2013 Ford Taurus that Mr. Hackbarth was driving. The Taurus rear ended the garbage truck.
