Driver Critical After Hillsborough Crash

She ran a stop sign, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa woman was critically injured in a traffic crash Wednesday (Oct. 11), according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Alana Posluszny, 21, of Tampa, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with critical injuries. The other driver, Robert O’Malley, 92, also of Tampa, was also taken to St. Joseph’s. He suffered minor injuries.

The crash happened about 3:07 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 597 and Lazy Lane. Posluszny was driving a 2001 Toyota Solara east on Lazy Lane. Troopers said she failed to stop at a posted stop sign and drove into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by O’Malley, who was headed south on SR 597.
