LARGO – A Largo woman was cited for careless driving after a crash with a deputy early this afternoon (May 29), according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy George Lehr, 37, suffered minor injuries in the crash. He was taken to a hospital by another deputy. Lehr has worked for the Sheriff’s Office since Nov. 9, 2015.

Mary Sylvia Boute, 78, of Largo, was not injured. Deputies cited her for careless driving.

The crash happened about 12:54 p.m. on Seminole Boulevard at Lark Drive SW in Largo.

Deputies said Lehr was on-duty and traveling north on Seminole Boulevard in a fully marked 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. Boute was driving her 2013 Buick Encore west on Lark Drive SW approaching Seminole Boulevard.

Boute stopped at the red traffic light at Seminole Boulevard, then proceeded to turn north onto Seminole, hitting the Chevrolet in the rear passenger door. The impact caused the Chevrolet to spin. Deputies said Lehr had the green traffic light when he was hit.
