His breath sample was twice the legal limit, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A Clearwater man was arrested after a crash late Thursday (Feb. 16) night killed the other driver, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Denise Diometre, 65, of New Port Richey, died of injuries she suffered in the crash. She died at Trinity Hospital where she was taken after the crash.

Dustin Lee Rhoades, 29, of Clearwater, was charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide after providing a breath sample of 0.16, troopers said. In Florida, the legal limit is 0.08.

The crash happened about 11:29 p.m. at the intersection of East Lake and Keystone roads. Troopers said Ms. Diometre was driving a 2012 Hyundai Elantra north on East Lake. Rhoades was behind her in a 2008 Ford Explorer. Troopers said the Ford overtook the Hyundai and collided with its rear end in the intersection. Both vehicles left the roadway and came to a final rest on the east shoulder north of the intersection.
