Driver Charged with DUI After Florida Avenue Crash
Her passenger, a man from Zephyrhills, was critically injured, FHP troopers said.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Zephyrhills man was critically injured and a Tampa woman was arrested this morning (Dec. 23) in connection with a traffic crash on N Florida Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Kevin M. Beazley, 30, of Zephyrhills, was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. It is unclear if he had been drinking.
The driver, Cassarah N. Chajkowski, 26, of Tampa, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with minor injuries. After she was released from medical care, she was arrested and charged with one count each of DUI-Serious Injury, DUI-Property Damage, and No Valid Drivers License.
The crash happened about 2:45 a.m. on N Florida Avenue at W Country Club Drive in Hillsborough County.
Troopers said Chajkowski was driving a 2009 Kia Spectra south in the inside lane of N Florida when she left the roadway and collided with a pedestrian crosswalk signal, concrete wall, and pedestrian handrail.
