Two Die after U.S. 19 Crash in Largo

Both were in the emergency lane at the time of the crash.

LARGO – Two people died from injuries received in a three-vehicle traffic crash Friday (May 12) night, according to the Largo Police Department.

Debbie Savanpanyadeth, 45, and Somsack Khamvongsa, 46, died at local hospital of their injuries. The driver of the third car was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash happened about 9:54 p.m. on southbound U.S. 19 N. Police said a 2003 Ford Expedition driven by Cesar Gonzalez-Calderon was traveling south in the curb lane when it entered the
emergency lane. A 1996 Toyota sedan and a 1999 Toyota van were in the emergency lane. Both drivers were outside of those vehicles when the Ford struck the sedan which struck the van.

The investigation is ongoing.
