One driver lost control while making a lane change, FHP troopers said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Lakeland woman died this morning (March 5) in a head-on crash on State Road 60, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Sarah Y. Dobson, 77, of Lakeland, died at the scene. The crash was not alcohol related.

The other driver, Sabrina Rae Eldridge, 24, of Mulberry, was taken to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition. An infant, who was a passenger in her car, was not injured.

The crash happened about 11:13 a.m. on SR 60 west of Luckasavage Road in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Ms. Dobson was driving a 2009 Nissan Sentra west on SR 60 when she lost control while changing lanes. The Nissan traveled across the grass median and collided head-on with the 2018 Chevrolet Cruz driven by Eldridge.
