One Dead, One Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash in Hernando
One driver was traveling north in a southbound lane, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
HERNANDO COUNTY – A Brooksville woman died and a man was seriously injured Tuesday (May 22) in a head-on traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Patricia Green Marlette, 87, of Brooksville, died at the scene. The other driver, Thomas Ray Tarulli, 33, of Brooksville, was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash happened about 8:51 p.m. on southbound Sunshine Grove Road in Hernando County. Troopers said Ms. Marlette was driving a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire north in the inside southbound travel lane. The Pontiac hit a GMC Sierra head on that Tarulli was driving south in the inside southbound lane.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
