HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man died Monday (Nov. 6) from injuries received in a late night traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Michael Scott Conner, 47, of Tampa, died at Florida Hospital where he was taken after the crash. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 9:53 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 301 and Harney Road. Troopers said Mr. Conner was riding a 2015 Vico motorcycle south on U.S. 301 when he ran a red light at the intersection. He collided with a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Charles Junior Vazquez, 19, of Tampa. The Dodge, which was northbound on U.S. 301, was turning left onto Harney.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the FHP said.
