He was crossing Spring Hill Drive, according to FHP troopers.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring Hill man died of injuries he received when he was hit by a car while crossing Spring Hill Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Edward Lugo, 53, of Spring Hill, died at the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point where he was taken after the crash.

Theresa Alagna, 66, the driver of the car, and her passenger, Carol Stange, 72, both of Spring Hill, were taken to Bayonet Point with minor injuries.

The crash happened about 6:44 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 2) on Spring Hill Drive east of Cobblestone Drive in Hernando County.

Troopers said Mr. Lugo was walking north across the eastbound lanes of Spring Hill Drive when he was hit by a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Alagna.
