The crash happened about 10:10 a.m. on Little Road south of Trace Highlands Boulevard. Mr. Pittman was driving a 2001 Honda motorcycle north on Little Road and, troopers said, failed to maintain control of his bike while rounding a curve. The motorcycle traveled onto the center median, continued north and struck a small bush before entering and crossing the southbound lanes of Little. The motorcycle then struck a curb and threw Mr. Pittman off the bike.
