Child, 8, Critically Injured in Pasco Crash

The child was on a bicycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A child riding a bicycle was critically injured Saturday (Jan. 7) in a crash with an SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Gage Traver, 8, of Port Richey, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with critical injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, the FHP said.

The crash happened about 3:35 p.m. at Palm Avenue and Flagler Drive. Troopers said a 2005 Lincoln SUV driven by Danielle T. Dunn, 41, of Port Richey, was headed north on Palm Avenue approaching the intersection with Flagler. Gage tried to cross Palm and rode into the path of the SUV, which hit him. No charges have been filed, troopers said.
