Child, 4, Critical After Being Hit by Pickup, Tampa Police Say

No charges are pending against the driver, according to the Tampa Police Department.

TAMPA – A 4-year-old girl was critically injured Saturday (April 7) when she was hit by a pickup truck, the Tampa Police Department said.

Jenna Wooten, 4, of Tampa, was taken to Tampa General Hospital where she is listed in critical but stable condition.

The crash happened about 8:04 p.m. on S Westshore Boulevard at W Paul Avenue. Police said Jenna he was reportedly being watched by an 11-year-old relative while her parents ran an errand. She left the residence, walked west on W Paul Avenue and into the S Westshore Boulevard intersection.

Police said she was hit by the front of a 2006 Nissan Frontier being driven south by Zachary Robinson, 35, of Tampa.

No charged are pending against Robinson.
