Witnesses saw a man running from the crash, according to the Tarpon Springs Police Department.

TARPON SPRINGS – A car crashed into the side of a house early this morning (Jan. 3), the Tarpon Springs Police Department said.

No one in the house was injured, police said. But a man seen running from the crash apparently had visible injuries. The house, 1297 S Disston Ave., sustained structural damage, but it is unclear to what extent. A building inspection is pending.

Police were called to the home about 12:55 a.m. When they arrived, officers found that a 2009 Ford Edge had crashed into the front of the house. Four people were in the home at the time.

Witnesses told officers that a man was seen running from the crash. A search of the area, including canines and air support, failed to find him. The witnesses said he had apparently sustained visible injuries as a result of the crash, but police said that hasn’t been confirmed.

Police contacted the car’s owner, who lives in Dunedin. He told officers he last saw the car on Christmas day when he loaned it to an acquaintance.
