The boat blocked the entrance ramp to an FDOT weigh station for more than an hour.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A boat that fell off a trailer Saturday (July 22) blocked the entrance ramp to a weigh station for about an hour and a half, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

No one was injured in the crash. No one was charged in the incident.

The crash happened about 7 p.m. on east bound I-4 at mile marker 12 where there is a state Department of Transportation scale house. Troopers said Thinh Le, 53, of Orlando, was towing a 28-foot boat on a trailer with a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The boat began to fishtail, causing Le to lose control of the Tahoe, which left the lane. The boat “traveled forward” and collided with the rear of the Tahoe, which hit a concrete barrier wall.

The impact with the barrier wall dislodged the boat, which went over the barrier and landed in the weigh station exit ramp. The boat blocked the ramp until about 8:39 p.m.
