The driver was traveling too fast for conditions, FHP troopers said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Drivers along I-4 ran into traffic tangles after a boat fell off its trailer and blocked one lane of travel for about two hours, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

There were no injuries but the driver, Carlos Castillo-Cabrera, 44, of Miami, was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.

The crash happened about 6:47 a.m. on westbound I-4 at about Mile Marker 17 in Hillsborough County.

Castillo-Cabrera was driving a 2005 Ford F250 that was towing a 24-foot 1996 Stratos boat. Troopers said Castillo-Cabrera was driving too fast for conditions and, because of the speed, the boat fishtailed. The truck-trailer combination jackknifed and the trailer separated from the truck. It came to rest on the outside lane and paved shoulder of I-4., closing that lane for about two hours.
