Bicyclist, Motorcyclists Seriously Injured in Pasco Crash

The crash between a bicycle and motorcycle sent three to hospitals.

PASCO COUNTY – A collision between a bicycle and motorcycle seriously injured the three people involved, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The motorcycle driver, Matthew W. Ashmore, 33, of Wesley Chapel, was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. His passenger, Leslie Groover, 24 of New Port Richey, was also taken to Lakeland Regional by ambulance. The bicyclist, Archee B. Taylor, 57, of Dade City, was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Taylor was not wearing a helmet. All were listed in serious condition.

The crash happened about 10 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 24) on Lock Street west of Julian Street. Troopers said Taylor was riding his bike east in the westbound lane when he steered in front of Ashmore who was driving a 2002 Suzuki east on Lock. The front of the motorcycle struck the bicycle.
