HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A bicyclist was seriously injured this morning (Jan. 17) when he collided with a pickup truck on N Nebraska Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Oleksandr Chemeryski, 35, of the Ukraine, was taken to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 8:19 a.m. at the intersection of N Nebraska and E 127th avenues in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Kenneth E. Clesen Jr., 32, of Tampa, was driving a 2014 Ford F150 east on 127th. Chemeryski was riding a bike on the north on the sidewalk on the west shoulder of Nebraska. As Chemeryski entered the intersection, troopers said Clesen failed to come to a complete halt at the stop sign and collided with the bicycle.
