Bicyclist Dies in SR 60 Crash

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Dover man died Thursday (Feb. 7) when he was hit by a pickup truck while crossing State Road 60 on a bicycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Johnny F. Renshaw, 71, of Dover, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 7:05 p.m. at the intersection of SR 60 and Marge Owens Road in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Mr. Renshaw and another were crossing SR 60. They rode across the westbound lanes and reached the median. The other bicyclist stopped, but Mr. Renshaw continued across and rode into the path of an oncoming 2005 Ford F150.
