Bicyclist Dies in Pasco Hit and Run Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information to contact troopers.

PASCO COUNTY – A bicyclist died Wednesday (Sept. 5) night in a hit and run crash on Boyette Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Hans Mentor, 48, of Wesley Chapel, died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 10:49 p.m. on Boyette Road north of Vienna Woods Lane in Pasco County.

Troopers said Mr. Mentor was riding his bicycle north on Boyette when he was overtaken by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield right of way to Mr. Mentor and hit the bike in the rear. After the crash, the driver fled the scene.
