Bicyclist Dies from Hillsborough Traffic Crash

She collided with a pickup truck, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office says.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A bicyclist died from injuries she received Saturday (Feb. 4) in a collision with a pickup truck, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office.

Heather Campbell, 35, of Tampa, died at Florida Hospital where she was taken after the crash. Deputies said she was not wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 9:04 a.m. on Bearss Avenue. Jason Bee, 35, of Wesley Chapel, was westbound on Bearss in his 2015 Ford F-150 in the inside lane. Ms. Campbell was riding her SC
1800 bicycle westbound on Bearss on the shoulder of the roadway. Deputies said Ms. Campbell tried to cross the roadway and entered the path of the F-150 causing it to strike her.
