Bicyclist Critical After Pasco Crash
The driver who hit him was momentarily distracted, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
PASCO COUNTY – A bicyclist was critically injured in a traffic crash Monday (March 26), the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Jonathan William Day, 33, of Panama City, was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in critical condition. No one in the SUV that hit him was injured.
The crash happened about 10:09 a.m. on Pretty Pond Road just east of 23rd Street in Pasco County. Troopers said Kelly Schweigart of Zephyrhills, who was driving a 2014 Dodge Journey, became temporarily distracted and did not see Day, who was riding along the edge of the roadway.
