ATV Driver Killed in Three-Vehicle Hillsborough Crash

A passenger on the ATV suffered minor injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man died Monday (May 22) when he was hit by a car after being thrown from an ATV in a traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jonathan Souza Barbosa, 24, of Tampa, died at the scene. Isabella Pascale, 18, of Tampa, a passenger on the ATV, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash happened about noon at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Adamsville Road. Mr. Barbosa was driving a Suzuki ATV eastboud on Adamsville when he ran the stop sign at the U.S. 41 intersection. The ATV was hit by a 2015 Jeep Wrangler driven by Arylexis Roa-Ramos, 21, of Apollo Beach.

The impact threw both Mr. Barbosa and Pascale off the ATV. Mr. Barbosa was then hit by a 2016 Hyundai Sonata driven by Anthony Thomas Murri, 75, of Valrico.
