Pinellas County plans to add ADA-compliant sidewalks, curb ramps and driveways along both sides of 42nd Avenue N from 46th Street to 35th Street in Lealman. Plans include filling in existing ditches to make a closed drainage system.

LEALMAN – Pinellas County has scheduled a neighborhood project information meeting to share information about planned roadway and sidewalk improvements along 42nd Avenue North from 46th Street to 35th Street in Lealman.

The meeting is set for 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 15) at the Lealman Exchange, 5175 45th Ave. N, Lealman.

With funding from the Penny for Pinellas program, the county plans to add ADA-compliant sidewalks, curb ramps and driveways along both sides of 42nd Avenue in the designated area. Roadway improvements will be made by realigning 42nd Avenue N at 43rd Street and filling in existing ditches to the extent possible on both sides of the road to accommodate a closed drainage system. The project will result in a safer pathway for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the winter of 2020 with completion expected in the winter of 2021.

The meeting will be an open house during which the project team will display information and answer questions, and all interested citizens are encouraged to attend. No formal presentation is scheduled.
