The Valspar Championship tees off Monday (March 5) at the Innisbrook resort in Palm Harbor.

PALM HARBOR – Two of the biggest names in professional golf, Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth, have committed to the 2018 Valspar Championship.

The Valspar Championship, a PGA tour event, will be held Monday (March 5) through March 11 on the Copperhead at Innisbrook, 36750 U.S. 19 N in Palm Harbor.

Woods has won 14 Major Championships among 79 PGA Tour victories (second all-time). He is playing in the Valspar Championship for the first time, but competed on the Copperhead in the 1996 JCPenney Classic, finishing second with partner Kelli Kuehne.

Spieth is the winner of the 2015 Valspar Championship and has finished in the top 20 in all four of his previous appearances in the event. The 24-year-old Texan has already won 11 PGA Tour events including three Major Championships. He ranks fourth in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Both have been the top ranked golfer in the world, with Woods holding that honor for a record 683 weeks in his career.

“This is tremendous news,” said Tracy West, tournament director. “Obviously, we have never had a field as strong as we now have. We expect tremendous demand for tickets and parking and
have put plans in place to deal with it. Still, we ask for understanding from our patrons in the days ahead and anticipate we will have to declare sellouts on some of the days of the tournament.”

Tickets are only available at ValsparChampionship.com and Publix stores, as supplies last.
