The college football game will be aired nationally on ESPN.

ST. PETERSBURG — Mississippi State and Miami of Ohio kick off at 11 a.m. Monday (Dec. 26) in the St. Petersburg Bowl at Tropicana Field. It’s the ninth year of this college football game, which will air on ESPN and ESPN Radio.

Tickets for the game start at $40 and are available for online purchase from Tickets.com or visit the game’s official site for information: stpetersburgbowl.com.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be the first Southeastern Conference program to appear in the game, while the Miami of Ohio RedHawks will be the third Mid-American Conference school (Ohio 2013, Ball State 2012) to appear.

Mississippi State finished the regular season with a 5-7 record. Miami is enjoying a six-game winning streak and has the unusual distinction of being the first team in college football to finish a regular season 6-6 after losing its first six games.  Odds makers favor Mississippi State to win.

Meanwhile, the Florida Gators and Iowa Hawkeyes arrive in Tampa Monday (Dec. 26) to begin preparations for the Outback Bowl 1 pm. on Jan. 2 in Raymond James Stadium.
