The New York Red Bulls will train at the Oldsmar Sports Complex soccer field.

OLDSMAR – The Oldsmar Sports Complex soccer field will serve as the training field for Major League Soccer New York Red Bulls training field from Jan. 22 through Feb. 3.

This makes Oldsmar the third location in Pinellas County selected by Major League Soccer for pre-season training.

“This is an important development for Oldsmar as we continue to bring diverse usage opportunities for the Oldsmar Sports Complex,” Oldsmar Mayor Doug Bevis said.

Extensive renovations have been completed to the soccer fields to prepare for the arrival of the Red Bulls technical staff members and players.

“We would not have considered this opportunity without the complete support of Oldsmar Youth Soccer. The cooperation extended by their organization to the city during field refurbishing was extraordinary,” Bevis said. “More so, we thank our partner, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, for their expertise and guidance in bringing the Red Bulls to Oldsmar.”

The Oldsmar Sports Complex is at 3120 Tampa Road. It is also home to the Oldsmar BMX Supercross Facility and Track, one of 10 in the world, where BMX riders train and compete.

“We are thrilled that the Red Bulls have selected our Sports Complex,” said Felicia Donnelly, director of leisure services for the city of Oldsmar. “Spring training doesn’t necessarily mean baseball anymore. This is a diverse sports town and we are certainly thrilled to welcome the Red Bulls and their fans to our city.”
