The TP52 vessel led the fleet for the entire 284-nautical mile race from St. Petersburg.

Conviction, a yacht out of Sarasota, skimmed across the finish line in Havana Harbor, leading all others in the fleet renewing the classic St. Petersburg to Havana sailboat race.

Second across was Fomo, a CK42 from St. Petersburg.

The pair led from the start on Tuesday, finishing Wednesday evening. The race, which had not been held since 1959 after Castro’s rise to power, attracted more than 70 yachts from around the country, though most were from Florida. They will continue to finish the race through today and into Friday.
