Willie Nelson Sells Out at Strawberry Festival
There are still nearly 3,000 free seats to Nelson’s show that will be available on a first-come, first-seated basis in the Morrow Steel Free Grandstands, festival officials said.
PLANT CITY – Willie Nelson and Family’s performance at the 82nd Annual Florida Strawberry Festival is sold out.
Nelson will perform at 3:30 p.m. today (March 3) on the Wish Farms Soundstage and 8,500 tickets have now been sold for his show.
“He has been selling well since the day our ticket office opened this year,” Florida Strawberry Festival general manager Paul Davis said. “So we really aren’t surprised that he sold out.”
Nearly 3,000 free seats to Nelson’s show will be available on a first come, first seated basis in the Morrow Steel Free Grandstands. Reserved seat tickets are still available for the festival’s 23 other headline entertainment acts. Among the headline performers: the Bellamy Brothers, Brenda Lee, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers and Rascal Flatts. Tickets are available online at flstrawberryfestival.com, over the phone at (813) 754-1996 or at the box office on the festival grounds.
“We’re proud of our entire lineup this year, and we’re happy to see that so many people are excited about the festival and our concerts,” Davis said.
In addition to headline entertainment, the event will host 25 on-grounds entertainers, more than 85 rides, 150 food vendors, seven livestock shows, six food contests and hundreds of arts and crafts vendors and exhibits.
The Florida Strawberry Festival is an 11-day community event celebrating the strawberry harvest of eastern Hillsborough County. Each year, nearly 600,000 visitors enjoy the festival’s headline entertainment, youth livestock shows, exhibits of commerce and, of course, its strawberry shortcake. The 2017 Florida Strawberry Festival will be open through March 12 in Plant City.
