Watch the Eclipse at a Clearwater Library

The maximum eclipse in Clearwater is expected at 2:49:12 p.m. Monday (Aug. 21).

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Public Library System will offer opportunities to view the solar eclipse from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday (Aug. 21.)

The eclipse maximum in Clearwater is scheduled to occur at 2:49:12 p.m.

The Clearwater Main Library, 100 N Osceola Ave., will have a limited number of eclipse-viewing glasses available for attendees to share during the eclipse. They will also have solar filter-equipped telescopes for seeing the eclipse up close. The event will take place on the sidewalk in front of the library. They will also be showing the NASA Eclipse 2017 livestream inside the library.

The Countryside Library, 2642 Sabal Springs Drive, will be streaming the eclipse on the big screen in the meeting room. The library will have a limited number of eclipse glasses to be shared on-site in a designated viewing area.

The North Greenwood Library, 905 N MLK, Jr. Ave., will have a limited number of eclipse-viewing glasses available for attendees to share during the eclipse. They will also have a solar filter-equipped telescope for seeing the eclipse up close and will be showing a live stream of the eclipse inside the library.

The Clearwater East Library, 2251 Drew St., will lend out a limited number of solar-eclipse glasses for attendees to share during the event, and they will livestream the solar eclipse in Meeting Room B.

At all locations, glasses will remain at the library and will be shared on a first-come, first-served basis.
