In St. Pete, the Last Night Is the First Night

First Night | St. Petersburg | New Year's Eve Events

The last night of the year is the time when St. Petersburg celebrates the coming of the New Year with its annual First Night celebration.

ST. PETERSBURG – Say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 with family-oriented festivities.

St. Pete rings in the New Year with music, lights, dance, fire, bubbles, stories, creative fun, fireworks and much more. First Night provides an opportunity for families to celebrate the New Year together, to celebrate the many performing and visual arts, individuals, and organizations in the community—and to celebrate the artist in all of us. Presented by AARP Tampa Bay, First Night is an exciting evening of music and art shown in more than 20 venues throughout downtown St. Petersburg from 4 p.m. until midnight.  Fun for all ages!

First Night St. Petersburg 2017 will begin at 4 p.m. with activities for kids in the churches and library, followed by a giant sea creature procession with sea creature puppets created with the Morean Center for Clay summer campers led by the Mt. Zion Drumline and Color Guard at 7:15 p.m. A fireworks display is scheduled at 8 p.m. and a fireworks finale at midnight.
