The Live, Love Clearwater festival celebrates local artists, businesses, breweries and more, all in one spot.

CLEARWATER – Supporting and celebrating all things local is what makes Clearwater such a great place to live, work and play, officials say.

On Saturday (April 22), Coachman Park, 301 Drew St. in Clearwater, will be transformed into an open market place where visitors can purchase items, and enjoy entertainment from local Tampa Bay merchants, artists and entertainers. Live Love Clearwater is part of the 10-day Fun ‘n’ Sun celebration and celebrates local businesses, food, artists, musicians, local breweries, food trucks, handmade makers and much more.

This truly local event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with local bands providing quality entertainment from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. More than 100 local businesses, makers and vendors are expected to take part in this celebration of everything local.

New this year will be the interactive Urban Conga, a design firm focused on promoting community activity and social interaction through play. The purpose of this unique experience is to get adults involved more by allowing them to play and interact with others through different activities. The company is the brainchild of three University of South Florida graduates and is headquartered in Tampa.

Clearwater natives, the Ries Brothers, will be entertaining visitors at this year’s event. Other local bands providing entertainment throughout the day will be Greg West, Aubrey Wollett and Smooth D & the Hunks. While shopping and enjoying all the entertainment, be sure to sample some of the tasty local craft beer that will be served. Craft beer has exploded in popularity in the Bay area over the years, and Live Local Clearwater is proud to showcase some of the best local breweries.

After this celebration of everything local wraps up for the day, continue to celebrate Fun ‘n’ Sun by jumping on the Clearwater Ferry or PSTA trolley and heading over to Clearwater Beach. There you will be able to enjoy the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival presented by Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater. This popular exhibit and event started Friday (April 14) and runs until Sunday (April 23). Purchase your tickets early and skip the line by going to sugarsandfestival.com.
