The HALO 5K in Tampa Benefits Developmentally Disabled

The HALO 5k is a race to support Angles Unaware and the developmentally disabled.

TAMPA – The HALO 5K is scheduled for Saturday (March 5) in Tampa’s Al Lopez Park, 4810 N Himes Ave. The day’s events also include a fun run.

Wear a halo for the event and support Angels Unaware.

The HALO Foundation is a nonprofit founded to encourage and support 24-hour residential care for developmentally disabled and physically handicapped persons of Hillsborough County. The foundation wants to provide assistance to these persons and organizations that provide support. The long-term goal is to provide group homes to service providers and offer guardianship and trust services to its residents and their families. 

HALO supports Angels Unaware, a non-profit, charitable organization that is dedicated to providing quality professional residential care facilities and services for the severe and profound developmentally disabled of Tampa. Angels Unaware has been serving the developmentally disabled in Tampa since 1973 and currently operates eight group homes and supported living services. Their mission is to provide opportunities for our residents to achieve their full potential, exercise their independence and enjoy an enhanced quality of life to the fullest.

The 5k is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. The fun run is scheduled to go off at 9 a.m. Registration starts at 7 a.m.
