Future of the Local Economy Is Topic at Chamber Confab

Industry leaders will predict what’s ahead for the Tampa Bay region.

TAMPA BAY – Hear what some industry leaders predict is in the year ahead for the region at the Focus on 2016: A Tampa Bay Economic Forecast event sponsored by the Central Pinellas Chamber of Commerce.

The annual event will start at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 7) with coffee and networking. The program itself will run from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort, 1160 Gulf Blvd., Clearwater. A table of eight (reserved seating) is $320. Individual tickets (open seating) are $44.

Panelists include Sean Snaith, PhD, director of the University of Central Florida’s Institute for Economic Competitiveness. Snaith will give a national/international economic forecast. Also on the panel is Max Stewart, regional manager of international trade development at Enterprise Florida. Stewart give an international trade forecast. Rick Homans, president/CEO of the Tampa Bay Partnership, will give his Tampa Bay forecast. And Jerry Parrish, PhD, chief economist and director of research for the Florida Chamber Foundation, will give that group’s economic forecast.
